Bob Wiermaa was born in 1933 in Virginia, Minnesota. In 1959 he, his wife Gerri and their three children moved to San Diego where he became a police officer. After 25 years in law enforcement he retired to the San Bernardino mountains of Southern California. For many years Bob was also a winning marathon runner.
He found he had a hidden talent for art when he started attending classes at an evening college. In a very short time he was winning awards in many local art events. He attended workshops at the Scottsdale Artist’s School and the Jackson Hole Art Academy. He has also spent many, many hours in museums and galleries as well as studying his extensive library of art books. He has studied with Dick Heichberger, Jim Wilcox, Matt Smith, Kevin MacPherson, George Strickland and John Budicin. |
